Pascal Ejiofor (b. 1999, Lagos, Nigeria) is a multidisciplinary artist and chef currently living and working in Kigali, Rwanda. Working primarily with painting and mixed media, his practice explores personal memory, cultural identity, and emotional tension. Alongside his art, Pascal has established himself in the culinary world, known for his ability to bridge creativity in the kitchen with storytelling on canvas. His work often moves between food, form, and feeling, shaped by years of travel, experience, and immersion in both visual and sensory craft.
His current body of work centres on a fictional character he has been developing since 2019, using it as a lens to explore displacement, ambition, solitude, and belonging. This figure appears throughout his paintings, sketches, and conceptual projects, often portrayed in fragmented, dreamlike environments. His work is personal but never isolated, drawing from shared cultural symbols, African aesthetics, and modern life. He approaches both food and art as vehicles for human connection and emotional resonance.
Pascal trained as a chef in Lagos and Nairobi, and has held key roles in restaurant kitchens across East and West Africa. As an artist, he has independently produced and exhibited his work online and within intimate creative circles, while continuing to develop his long-term art project under the name PAEJIO. He is currently preparing for his first solo exhibition and launching a hybrid platform combining art, food, and hospitality consulting.
